365 days of bizzare hapenings

Today is the last day of the year. Ask yourself:
Out of the 365 days, how many days did you truly enjoy?
Have you ever felt like celebrating life for no apparent reason?
What kind of perfect excuse would you use to ask someone to enjoy life for no reason?

Can't decide on a new year resolution? Well, search no more. I'm gonna present a list of events for each and every day throughout the whole year that you can celebrate if you feel like having fun.

Performance Review [3POINT8]

"When Speedy crosses the finish line, he can't help it but turn back and look at the millions miles he traveled. A sense of achievement is all that is needed to make the effort worth while!"
Its a metaphor describing how year ends has always been a time for looking back to the past.
People look back and dwell in their achievement, their regrets, their memories.

My greatest achievement in 2007:
Initiated a talk to a total stranger on the street while walking in the same direction for 5min.

My sweetest moment of 2007:
Someone invited me to a group trip knowing I wouldn't fit in.

My most awkward moment in 2007:
Being accused of going after his girl.

Most miserable moment of 2007:
Standing in a blistering cold outside of BP bidding farewell to an angel.

What did 2007 meant to you?

Nufflet

A new Online advertising Network was launched on Xmas day 2007. I guess Santa Claus was kind enough to bless Nufflet. According to their website, Nufflet was launched at 8.40pm. I guess those involved in it made it in time just for Xmas.

I don't know about you guys, but I have a funny feeling about the name, Nufflet. The name sounds very familiar... Maybe I'm having too many nuggets lately.

I was kinda hyped about it when i read it on Merdurian and JohnnyKiu. Sadly, my enthusiasm shattered and diminished like snow flakes when I read this line on Nufflet's FAQ.
What kind of requirements do you have for a Publisher?
To become a publisher in the Nufflets Network, you must meet our minimum requirements:
2. You must own the domain (i.e. your website must not be hosted on a free service).
HeartBreak...
Oh well, I'm sure there is more to life than having my own domain.
[Psstt...I'm still waiting for Santa to magically appear and say: "3POINT8, your wish is my command"]

Xmas Present

I celebrated my Xmas eve around the Curve, Damansara yesterday. I saw some pretty bizare happenings the moment the clock ticked 12am on the 25th dec:

A family of 3 were snapping photos in a midst of a huge crowd. The child was running happily posing himself as an elf while the father try his best to pose himself as Santa Claus. It was a very lovely sight, kid running around, mom snapping photos at father and son doing crazy things. When the perfect moment came, the father presented his son with a small lil Xmas present. The child ran as fast as he could towards the father with a glimmering smile on his face! And The father gave the present to the child with a happy heart.

I so happened to be standing next to the father at that time. For some reason, he turned to me and said: "Wait wait, Look at his expression!" *while pointing to his son*
The child's expression changed dramatically when he opened the Xmas present. He kept the present in his pocket and showed his dad the message he found in the present and demanded for an explanation in a cheeky manner: 'Whats the meaning of this?"
I took a curious peek at the message and I was laughing my guts out when I read "Keep the batteries for future use, toys not included."

Seeing how I was laughing so hard, the father jokingly gave me an advice.
He said: "Young kid, Santa is the most brilliant guy I've ever heard. He had the right idea all along. Visit people once a year."

"Good one! Merry Xmas!" I replied and I casually walked off while staring at the fullmoon. The beautiful sight along with the advice he gave me, got me thinking: "If there is no joyous way to give a festive gift, give love away."

*Love and Hugz from 3POINT8*

Merry Christmas!

Msian kids love Santa?

-------- Unrelated Stuff --------
All I want from Santa this year is a postcard signed by the big guy himself from North Pole.

I went into Yahoo Answers and I found out that most people agree saying that kids start to question the existence of Santa at 8~12 yrs old.

My guess is that it only applies to western countries and to countries where Xmas is a big deal! I doubt young Malaysians ever did believe in Santa.
1) I've never seen a chimney nor a fireplace in msian houses!
2) We don't get a lot huge white man walking around in msia.
3) Reindeers can't survive in Malaysia. If it could, Parameswara would have created stories about reindeer instead of a puny deer kicking some tiger. [I may have my facts wrong on this]
4) And I don't think Msians are keen on the idea of someone breaking into their homes with 9 tigers. Not especially when you caught a glimpse of a fat white man leaving your house with a bag full of Ipod, Vaio along with your favourite Keropok.

With Dumax, Vitagen and those brain enhancing food, I'm sure Msian kids are way much smarter than to believe in the mythical Santa. Being nice whole year round is not worth it for that Red Ryder BB gun. Why not have fun 365days every year by being a lil bit more mischievous than any other normal kids?
*Psst kids, Go poke ur sis! Its fun!*

Having read my long list of exhaustive facts, would you still believe in Santa now?

Thomas Edison & lightbulb

Who invented the Phonograph?
Thomas Alva Edison!
[Yay! $2 won!]

Who electrocuted an Elephant with 1000V AC power?
Thomas Alva Edison's worker!
[Yay! $20 won!]

Who invented the lightbulb?
Thomas Alva Edison!
[Ouch, $60 flew out of my wallet just like that]
It wasn't Thomas Edison. It was Joseph Swan who invented the lightbulb. If you don't believe me, go wiki Joseph Swan.

[Interesting fact] Thomas Edison got expelled from 3 schools. The reason: "Asking too many questions!"

I lost $38 to a friend. Slicky conman! I was so convinced that I would win the bet. But no, what my school teacher told me was wrong all this while. And it took me 13 years to realize the truth!
So, the next time you see a guy with the T-shirt "My name is 3POINT8" who wants to makes a $2 bet with you... Think twice, let him win.

Moral of the story: Don't ask too many questions! Mother earth may kill you for asking too much!

Cocaine >> Censored >> No Name

Have u read of Las-Vegas-ian drinking Cocaine after busting themselves in the gym?
Ranked no.17 in The 101 Dumbest Moments in Business, 2007.

I imagine the conservation about deciding on a catchy name. It probably went like this:

Boss: Its an energy drink. What should we call it?
Marketeer: Hmm, Let's see... Does it put the customer into a state of euphoria, incresed blood pressure, increased heart rate and hyperactivity?
Boss: Yes, you idiot! Its an energy drink!
Marketeer: Lets call it Cocaine then.
Boss: Funny name... But it sounds good to me!

I wondered what happened in between. Apparently they changed the product name from Cocaine to Censored.

Boss: I consulted uncle Google! Cocaine is a drug! It was a mistake naming it to a Drug! Changed the name this instance!
Marketeer: Hey boss, lets expand our market! You know 'night activities' are vigorous and energy consuming?
Boss: Its true that everyone here in Las Vegas is looking for a good time! Go on...
Marketeer: Since sex is a taboo word, lets call it Censored then!

Strangely enough, FDA banned the name Censored. I mean, if the name Cocaine got approved, why can't they use names like Censored? I wonder whats wrong with the name.

Boss: Come to my office! I need to talk to you!
Marketeer: Sup' boss?
Boss: Cocaine and Censored doesn't work. Can you come up with any other fancy name?
Marketeer: I have no idea boss. Why not we just call it No Name and settle with it?
Boss: Sigh... I guess we have no choice!

So, yup. A No Name product.
According to this article, Cocaine goes no-name:
Redux will provide a line of stickers - with names such as are "Banned by the man," "Screwed" and "Censored" - in store displays, to encourage consumers to name the beverage themselves. "We saw this as an opportunity to put the name of the drink in the hands of the user," said Kirby. "Let them decide what they want to call it."

I'd say these people are very creative! Have you heard of any weird brand names recently?
[For those staying in msia, have you come across a mineral water called No Name?]

Mirror of Desires

---- Unrelated Stuff ----
I ate to much peanuts these few days. Nose bleed non stop whole day
------------------------

Today morning, I woke having the feeling that I had it all, Riches, Power, Recognition, Beauty, and Charm. When my senses came about, all those my desires were replaced by a feeling of solitude.
I thought to myself: "Great! Another one of those happy joyous dream. Just what I needed. A cold splash on the head just when I thought I had it all!"

I woke up recalling an mystical artifact mentioned in the storyline of Magic: The Gathering. The artifact is known as Mirror of Desires - Mirari. Legend has it that the Mirari offers what you want, not what you need. It is a legendary artifact of immense power with the ability to make its wielder's innermost wishes come true. The Mirari is relatively small, resembling a metallic ball mounted on a wirey helix.

In the story, people would kill just to get a glimpse of the Mirari. People would go as far as destroying planes, snuff out some species in the process just get a feel of the Artifact's texture. To them, its all worth it considering that the Mirari is able to grant any desire to the wielder. As time pass by, the Mirari notoriously drives its wielder insane, often causing death and massive destruction, wherein it awaits a new master.

I was just thinking, we work all our ass off, often times resort to dirty methods just to put one foot nearer to our desires. Our world revolves around us and we are the center of our universe. As long as our desires are met, nothing matters anymore.
Just like ms pinky over there. She wouldn't mind going all the way to Egypt, burn a few midnight oil, swallow a hundred cups of instant noodle (knowing that those are health damaging) in order to graduate from a medic Uni.

We all have desires, things that we want.
Some of us desire for Knowledge. Some for Wisdom.
Some of us desire for Beauty. Some for Charm.
Some of us desire for Love. Some for Attention.
Some of us desire for Happiness. Some for Peace.

Tell me: If someone hands over the Mirari to you under the condition that you can never refund the artifact (just like in the movie "Click"), would you accept it knowing that it may bring death and destruction to those around you?

[Even if u wish for harmony among your circle of friends, it might still bring destruction to those who you don't even know exist. Would you still accept it?]

Tag - Facts and Mistakes

I got tagged by evie to do a 7 random Fact about myself.

[The dilbert Principle: The most ineffective workers are systematically moved to a place where they can do the least damage -- Management]
3) People who do not know my name used to refer me as 3.8 back in college.
[In Chinese culture, 38 is pronounced as 'sanpat' which also means busybody]

[It is estimated that 100 billion people have died since humans began.]

7) I hate the number Seven.

1 wish just isn't enough

Everybody has a notion that they are granted at least a wish every year.
Such examples are moments of:
Blowing out candles on a birthday cake.
Holding one's breath for the entirety of a tunnel.
Seeing a shooting star.
Blowing dandelion achenes.

I wonder if there is a 'wish' limit. Wishing for a wish is definitely fine with everyone, but what if someone wish for more than 1 wish? Would the 2nd wish come true? More questionable is, would the 1st wish even come true?

Since its such a popular folklore, let's just assume that the 1st wish will definitely come true. Question is: Is 1 wish enough for you?

These are the unfortunate events where 1 wish is just not enough:
"He wished for growth, but not for a way to control it."
"She wished for a weapon, but not for the skill to wield it."
"He wished for knowledge, but not for the will to apply it."
"He wished for power, but not for the longevity to abuse it."
"She wished for nobility, but not for a nation to honor it."
[quotes from Magic the Gathering]

Sometimes the laws of the world are so mysterious that your wish may go against you!
"I wish that I didn't have to do my nails..." "Granted. I cut your fingers and toes off!"
"I wish I wasn't fat." His wish was granted, and now he's obese.
"I wish I didn't have to go to work"..."Granted. You're fired."
"I wish I had more money"... Money fell from the sky until it crushed him utterly.
"I wish I had a girlfriend"... Wish granted.
[quotes from uncyclopedia]

Sometimes even 3 wishes will get u back to the beginning.
An elderly man was sitting alone on a dark path, right? He wasn't certain of which direction to go, and he'd forgotten both where he was traveling to and who he was. He'd sat down for a moment to rest his weary legs, and suddenly looked up to see an elderly woman before him. She grinned toothlessly and with a cackle, spoke: "Now your *third* wish. What will it be?"
"Third wish?" The man was baffled. "How can it be a third wish if I haven't had a first and second wish?"
"You've had two wishes already," the hag said, "but your second wish was for me to return everything to the way it was before you had made your first wish. That's why you remember nothing; because everything is the way it was before you made any wishes." She cackled at the poor berk. "So it is that you have one wish left."
"All right," said the man, "I don't believe this, but there's no harm in wishing. I wish to know who I am."
"Funny," said the old woman as she granted his wish and disappeared forever. "That was your first wish."

And if you remember the movie 'Bedazzled', 7 wish may not be enough for you!
Moral of the story: "I wish you can tell me a moral."

Eye contact

When eye meets eye, an elusive kind of contact is established! Eye contact is one of the most emphasized non-verbal communication here in this planet.

Most would sat that eye contact is important as it represent trust and creates a mystical bond at the same time.
In English culture, eye contact is a must as a display of respect.
In British culture, eye contact is an act of intrusion.
In South Asian culture, eye contact is viewed as aggression.
In certain culture, eye contact can also mean flirting. ^_^
To the blind.... Tough luck!

Then again, nobody would want to talk to someone who only looks at the floor 24/7. Which also means that a short duration of eye contact is important no matter who you are interacting with.
Personally, I was brought up to believe that eye contact is intrusive and rude. So establishing eye contact is something which I'm really bad in. I tend to look here look there, up in the sky, or far behind the person as if he/she is transparent.

Can help a fellow blogger out here?
How do you view eye contact as? (act of intrusion or act of respect)
and if u do make eye contact, how long will it be so that it doesn't look inappropriate??
(Do you have like a maximum eye contact duration??)

[NLP] Parroting

Ever heard of all this quotes:
  • “No one is as deaf as the man who will not listen.” Jewish Proverb
  • “A friend is someone who helps you up when you're down, and if they can't, they lay down beside you and listen.” Annonymous
  • “Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story” Max Ehrman
  • “The gift of friendship... a willingness to listen... a pair of helping hands... a whisper from the heart. That someone cares and understands." Annonymous
What do all those quote have in common?
The word listen. At one stage or another, everyone would have complained saying that a particular person doesn't listen to them enough. Complainers often feel annoyed and worthless because they don't seemed important enough to the eyes of the conversation partner.

The situation above would be possible if everyone speaks music to our ears. Unfortunately, different people have different type of interest. Then again, there are times when you would want to stick to a conversation knowing that its boring you to death. (eg: Perhaps you wouldn't want a pretty girl to view you as rude person. Or maybe you thought that you would get to know a charming person if you play along with the dumb uninteresting conversation.)

So then, being the brilliant conversational partner, how can you avoid inflicting annoyance to anyone?
In conversation techniques, there is method known as 'Parroting'. Its a technique used to prolong a conversation and to delve more deeply into the conversation subject if you have nothing to comment on.
It works by repeating a word or two in a form of a question.

eg:
DumbBlond: "I just think dolphines are wonderful creatures. They can sing, they can swim, and their hobby is sex!"
SmartGuy: "Dolphine?"
DumbBlond: "Yea......dolphine..you know those cute aquatic blue creatures?"
SmartGuy: "Aquatic?"
DumbBlond: "You know....creatures who swim?"
SmartGuy: "Oh.....like fishes.....so you like swimming?"
DumbBlond: "Nah....I prefer to camwhore with popular people"
SmartGuy: "Camwhore?"
(and so the conversation goes on...)

You get the idea. Its like a parrot repeating a word.

Parroting its definitely better than saying stuff like 'Uh huh..' 'Rite rite'. That is because all those leads to a dead end if no one knows what else to say.
At least by parroting a word or two, the other person will tend to explain, leaving space to expand on a conversation topic or a chance to change the conversation topic.
It makes other people think that you are always keen on learning new stuff. Best of all, Parroting it make people think that you are actually listening to them. (Whether you are listening or not is not important. So as long as you give the impression to others that you are listening to them)

Idea from How to Talk to Anyone - 92 little tricks for big success in relationship by Neil Lowndes

Interesting note: Those who chat with me on msn or those who know me in real life may notice that I tend to use this technique a lot!

So, do you think Parroting is a feasible technique to be used in everyday life?

My desktop wallpaper is a solarized version of the picture on the left.
I was using 2 monitors, hence there are 2 black rose there on my wallpaper when I use the print screen function. The reason I converted it to a black background is because I'm using a CRT monitor as the 2nd monitor. [Fact: Power consumption can be reduced by as much as 80% if a black background was used on a CRT monitor.]
I'm doing my part to save electricity. Have you?

Blogger Gathering

Yay! I managed to attend the blogger gathering organized by Princess.Eileen and Evelynholic last friday.

Long Long grandmother story begins here:
Friday, 23rd Nov 2007
9.30pm : Arrived in KLIA
10.10pm : Checkout and got out from the airport
10.55pm : Reached back home, frantically took out my msian IC and my drivers license.
11.10pm : Left home, started my journey to the Curve (gathering venue)

Its been 10months since I last drove. When I first drove the car, I was going at 20km/hr. I think 3 cars honked at me! 5mins later, I slowly ramp it up to 80km/hr and then started to speed at 110km/hr

11.40pm : Reached Damansara
11.40~11.55pm : Turn round and round figuring out where is the Curve.

That Friday was the 1st time I've been to the Curve. I managed to find the parking area after 15mins circling here and there. When I went up to the shopping complex, I panicked when I saw 2 cleaners mopping the floor. Everything was closed and not a person was in sight (except for the 2 cleaner who is staring at me with a very weird look)
Luckily there is a thing called a phone! I found out that those bloggers were in Scarlet clubbing their heart out. I spent another 10mins looking at the building directory only to figure that Scarlet is not in the Curve. Its in the building next to the Curve.

So, made my way to the Curve. On the way there, I managed to bump into Nkwai and Hungwei.
They were so delighted when I told them that I saw them before in the blogosphere. (I mean, I would react the same way if some unknown stranger suddenly comes up to you and said something like: "You look familiar! Do you blog??")

12.**am : Entered Scarlet and met up with the rest of the blogger.

I met up PE and Evie for the 1st time along with yatz, aby, fattien, kimfei, mich, calv, anston, and enegue. (I managed to recall 8 bloggers name. The rest...tak ingat lor)
I met them all in the club. Aisay, I missed a hug from PE. I was kinda blur when I entered the club. I saw PE with her hands wide open and I was standing there like an idiot. Plus, I brought something for PE, but I didn't hand it to her. I was really blur then. *Mistake mistake*
In the club...it was pretty noisy, packed with lights flickering around. Not exactly the perfect place to meet new friends. I gave up on having a proper conversation with any of them since I can hardly hear anything even though they were shouting next to my ears. [Hehe, I do take delight in hearing PE's voice though.]

2.**am : Went limteh with the remaining bloggers who refused to go back home.

This is when I managed to get their name, and the blog they author. And thanks to them, I know that I shouldn't drive anywhere on 24th and 25th of nov because of a possible protest going on in msia.

2.30am : Gathering over. Everyone parted ways, and I too made my way back home.

I got lost in Damansara again. Spent 20mins only to figure out that I making 5 circles around 1Utama, and the Curve. I admit, that was humiliating! 5 circles! I don't think anyone can beat that!

Overall, the gathering is kinda fun! I get to see PE, evie and I managed to meet a couple of new friends!

Interesting note:
1) Now I know why 1 fella stressed to me that anston is a guy! His blog add is daisycave!
2) Nkwai and Hungwei are like professional photographers with their huge cameras.

Motivation Door

Motivation is the X factor that keeps someone going no matter how hopeless a situation may be. Its the reason why dreams are possible.

" Greatness is going to the edge, looking over into the impossible, and then building a bridge to go further."
----Stuart S
I have a motivation door that keeps me going everyday here in sydney. Whenever I feel down, all I need to do is stand in front of my room door and ponder upon the endless possibilities that could happen if all goes well. Sometimes I would imagine the praises, the encores, the acknowledgments that I am going receive.

There is also a plus point behind this motivation door of mine. I believe in the power of subconscious mind and the power of advertising. Repetition is a very powerful advertising tool and this method is freaking powerful!

Since my room door is the place that I will pass by everyday, why not turn it into source of motivation. [Hehe, I had to resort to inanimate objects to motivate me since very few people is able to motivate me at the right time as I love to hide my worries with me]

So, what I did was put some simple motivational pictures on my door. By walking pass it repeatedly, I believe that the motivational message is definitely gonna be stuck in my head. [Like that macho-man song mr.x uses in his blog. The song will be stuck in your head even listening to the whole track once. It uses the power repeatability]

There you go: A snapshot of my door:
  • 3 Kif's to remind me of myself
  • Love, Hugz, and Smiles from the 'Teddy bear' and the 'smiley face'
  • 'Tiger' symbolize greatness
  • A 'graduation person' to remind me of my goal to achieve 1st class honours.
  • The black images are calender wallpaper from Johnnie Walker
  • The doorknob is there just to prove that its a door!
So, what motivates you?

3POINT8 back in msia [updated]

Surprise surprise...I booked my air tic an hour ago. Guess what? I'll be flying back to msia on the 23th of nov [Friday]. My flight will reach msia at 9pm.

Flight details are confirmed!
I'll be rushing to a blogger gathering organised by Princess.Eileen and Evelynholic right after I get out from the airport.

Risk

I'm having problem sleeping lately. Something seems to be bothering me lately though I clearly do not know what is it.

This quote keeps popping up in my head:
"Always do what you are afraid to do."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

The one thing that most people are likely to regret are the things they didn't try and do. And this left me wondering: "Risks.....Are they worth it?"

Tag - 5 10 15

I have mixed feelings about doing tags now. I used to like tags a lot and I think my mindset is starting to change now...

List out Top 5 Presents you wish for
1. Some small hand made stuff which can last indefinitely. (like a self-made postcard)
2. A PDA so that I can msn wherever I want (mr.x has one of those and he blog in the toilet!)
3. A super chun super geng professional looking SLR. (So that I can post as many photos as HotPinkChili)
4. A VIC. (So that I can decorate the car as how Prin.Eileen decorates it)
5. Postcard! (I love postcards! I think they are the best present anyone can give. Its reachable to every part of the world, small, easy to file, and has the opportunity to travel thousand of miles. Just like a chili padi, small yet meaningful!)

[Out of the 5 presents listed, a postcard is still the best gift to me!]

The person who tagged you is
Fengy (if not mistaken, he is a medic student.)

Your 5 impressions of him/her
  • Brainy, smart and deals with death god (Medic Student)
  • Look like a prefect in sec school (The white shirt, the tie and the way he stands)
  • Like to pose in one corner of the room
  • The only thing he likes to cross are his hands
  • And he lies. (I found out his name is not joe!)
Most memorable things he/she has done for you
He tagged me!

The most memorable words he/she has said to you
"My first time seeing ppl die" (actually it was written in his blog and I so happen to be his reader)

If he/she becomes your lover, you will
I'll change my passport, my ID, delete my blog, delete my friendster, my facebook and wipe my name off from the net and this world! (no wait, I can just intro Fengy to mr.X.... mr.X is into tranny)

If he/she becomes your lover, what they have to improve on will be
How to leave me alone

If he/she become your enemy, you will
Never go the hospital he is attached to. (You'll never know what medic students are capable of. They may take out your liver, your stomach, and your heart, and still keep you alive)

If he/she become your enemy, the reason will be
I didn't reply his tag (I replied your tag here! pls pls....don't take out my liver, my stomach and my heart. Especially my heart...I need it to spread some love around)

Pass this quiz to 10 people that you wish to know how they feel about you
1. Lissya
2. Evie
3. Evangeline
4. FoonLing
5. JadeZheng
6. Melissa
7. Nux V
8. Pinksterz
9. Princess.Eileen
10. YuinYin

1. Who is No.7 having a relationship with?
[Nux] I'm guessing that Nux is single. Well, she is a daughter to her mother and father.

2. Who is No. 9 having a relationship with?
[Prin.Eileen] Single too, I think even though there are signs of a potential partner waiting for her.

3. If No. 9 and 10 are together, will it be a good thing?
[Prin.Eileen & YuinYin] Yup.

Bloggers on msn

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”
4 days ago, mr & ms.sepam added me in their msn friend list! And they messaged me!
mr.sepam = mr.x
ms.spams = pinskterz
[do check out their pinky blog!]

I had a sense of belonging while chatting with them! Its like I'm accepted in their circle of friends. Its like being connected in a way. I don't know how to express this feeling, but its like chatting with a long lost good buddy.

For those who are curious, we talked nonsense stuff all the way. Frankly speaking, its kinda fun chatting with the 2 jokers. I was laughing all the way cause these 2 jokers bomb each other throughout the whole conversation

Wow, blogging does allow one to make new friends!
So bloggers, remember to update your blog!
Non-bloggers, if you want to know more ppl, blogging may be your style!

[Speaking of blogging friends, there is a blogger gathering happening on the 23rd of nov in m'sia, organised by Princess Eileen and Calvin's Wife. It looks like a very happening event. I so wanted to attend the event, but too bad I'll be stuck in syd, aus at that time. Anyway if u have the time, check out their blog]

Exam

My final exam is on Wednesday 14th of November. This will be my last uni exam that I have to go through. After that day, no more exam days!
UNSW 1st class Honours Mechatronic engineering degree, here I come!

I sure hope that I don't do something like:
Worse come to worst, I won't draw a hangman even if I don't know how to answer the paper! It'll only make me look bad! I'll probably draw a cute cute doraemon picture. I better spend some time practicing how to draw big puppy eyes. [Which reminds me, I should bring some colour pencils to the exam hall]

Photohunt 83: Flexible

This is my first time participating in this Photohunt game.
More details in PhotoHunt
[Actually, the details are kinda vague. It says that I can join the newbie group if i put the photohunt button which links to the photohunt website. But the thing is I don't see any newbie group.]

You know how youngsters always want their outlook to be hip no matter the circumstances.
My brother, Sean is that kind of people. Even before going to sleep, he has to be 'hip and in', wearing both pyjamas and fashionable clothes at the same time. Now this is what I call flexible!

Naked Introduction

There seems to be a lot of social gathering happening around this month till Christmas. Gathering are fun and its the perfect opportunity to make new friends. But this may not be case for the shy and the anti-social.

Let me present you a trick you can use while meeting someone new.

[NEVER THE NAKED INTRODUCTION]
When you meet someone new, the most standard question that anoyone can ask is:
"Where are you from?"
and if you answer something standard like:
"I'm from Kuala Lipis"

Subsequently, they'll be thinking in their head: "Gosh....Kuala Lipis. I've never been there. hmmm....What do I know about Kuala Lipis? Is that in Malaysia or Indonesia? Maybe its named after Datuk Lipis.... but I'm not sure so I better keep my mouth shut on that one."

Soon, there will be awkward silence between the two of you. You are waiting for his reply while that poor chap is trying to think of something interesting to say. And by the time the both of you leave the whole conversation, both of you guys will be thinking: "What an boring person!"

That is known as the naked introduction where by an information is presented in a naked form.
Whenever someone ask for "Where are you from?", never ever challenge their powers of imagination with a one-word answer. Learn some interesting facts about your hometown that conversational partner can comment on.

Everyone knows that a fisherman uses a different bait for different types of fishes. In your conversation, you should add in extra detail relating to who you are speaking to.

If you are speaking to someone who plays music, you may say: "I'm from Kuala Lipis, the land where Siti Nurhaliza is from. I've even been to her house." This opens the conversational possibilities to Malaysian Idol, Guitar and Stuff, recent tabloid news, Jay Chow, Micheal Jackson's Nose, and etc.
If you attending a fashion event, you may say: "I'm from Kuala Lipis. The reason I left is because the fashion there is so out-dated!" Now the conversation can turn to the joy of shopping, the best place for best bargains, diamonds and jewels, Megamall, and etc.
Or, if you are attending a blogging event, you may say: "I'm from Kuala Lipis. Other than massive fireworks during new year and lion dance during CNY, there isn't much anything happening there. The only reason I came to this event is to meet Princess Eileen." Now now, can anyone tell me what are the possible conversational topic?
