[Updated] The Best are optimists

I received another one of those random quotes from my mom today....for the 2nd time.
You can't get to the top if you don't think that there is a top or if you think you can't make it. One characteristic of those who reach the peak is that they always believe that things can get better or be done better. This pushes them on to be their best.
Cheers.... My mum loves me.....
Cheers.... My dad loves me too..

On another matter:
I wanna go Asia Cafe!!! I miss the bread crab, the 'stingray' (ikan??) bakar, and the super huge gigantic rm4 watermellon juice!!! Problem is, all of those stuff are in Malaysia and i'm stuck here in aus.... Guess I'll just have to settle with indo-mee for the time being....
Oh oh, I'm going to Melbourne, Snowy Mountain and Canberra soon!!!
But before that, 1 more exam paper to go!!!
Come on' people.... Encourage me a bit....

Health Habits

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to 'schedule.'

Because :

Evening at 9 - 11 PM :
is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1 am :
is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3 am :
detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5 am :
detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am :
detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9 am :
absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

DO TAKE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH

two brothers and the geese story

Two sons work for their father on the family's farm. The younger brother had for some years been given more responsibility and reward, and one day the older brother asks his father to explain why.

The father says, "First, go to the Kelly's farm and see if they have any geese for sale - we need to add to our stock."

The brother soon returns with the answer, "Yes they have five geese they can sell to us."

That father then says, "Good, please ask them the price."

The son returns with the answer, "The geese are £10 each."

The father says, "Good, now ask if they can deliver the geese tomorrow."

And duly the sone returns with the answer, "Yes, they can deliver the geese them tomorrow."

The father asks the older brother to wait and listen, and then calls to the younger brother in a nearby field, "Go to the Davidson's Farm and see if they have any geese for sale - we need to add to our stock."

The younger brother soon returns with the answer, "Yes, they have five geese for £10 each, or ten geese for £8 each; and they can deliver them tomorrow - I asked them to deliver the five unless they heard otherwise from us in the next hour. And I agreed that if we want the extra five geese we could buy them at £6 each."

The father turned to the older son, who nodded his head in appreciation - he now realised why his brother was given more responsibility and reward.

0 Love

Referring to the previous post, I was worried when I saw my 'love' rating = 0. Well, it was 0.3 when I first took the 'My life' quiz. The 2nd time I took it, I went down to 0. Dang, this is the part of life I'm missing.
Just like what liz q said: "we need to learn to fix our weakness".
Let's see: [Be willing to change step by step], [appreciate critics], [experimenting], [trying]
Appreciate Critic: Give me feedback on how I'm doing in life, would ya?
Experimenting: I hope no one freaks up if I suddenly decided to try something fresh.
Trying: The 1st step is the hardest eh?

Presentation (con't)

Alrite...Continuing from the previous post.
[I know this post is suppose to be posted up a few days ago, but I got carried away from my other assignments and work]

Anyway, I present point no.2....that other thing that made me happy the other day:
I had a group presentation the other day. After the main presentation was over with, comes the Q&A session. Well, there ware a couple of questions from the floor. The presentation was suppose to END after the Q&A time. We are suppose to say 'Thank you guys!!' bow, wait for someone to applause and then leave the stage. But not for our group. Know what we did??
We said: "Since this is the last class, we would like to take this oppurtunity to thank Tomonari, our jap lecturer...Edward & Daniel, the tutors and everyone else who made this 'Robot Design' course into an interesting 1!!"
The interesting thing about this part is that this appreciation speech was planned minutes just before the whole class started. Yea, this appreciation thing was done in the eleventh hour.
After the appreciation speech, we waited for the appluase (hey, shouldn''t we all take pride in what we do) and left the stage. While walking back to my seat, I walked pass the jap lecturer, Tomonari was sitting in the front row marking our performance.
I was suprised when he turned to me and said in a soft voice: "I lost my voice" *while pointing at his throat*. I wasn't on planning to start a conversation before he made that remark. Heck, I wasn't even looking at him. So, I was really suprised that he randomly mentioned something which doesn't even concern me..... I was pretty sure that he was saying that to me... So, I acted dumb and was thinking 'whoa, that was random'....

I told this peculiar action of my lecturer to 1 of my other groupmate a few hours later. Guess what he commented?? He said that Tomo (our jap lecturer) was probably touched by our appreaciation speech and wanted to express his happiness which he couldn't because he had a sore throat. Come to think about it, I did remember his facial expression has a 'thankful' look.
For a moment, I felt happy realising that I made someone happy for the day. (Well, we may have misinterpret his actions, but hey...just having that thought is enough to make me go happy for a day.) Gee, I guess this is what is meant by 'You can be happy by making others feel great about something!'
Until now, I would still like to think that he was feeling something like this:
Well, maybe I should change the words to: 'I think what I need more than anything else in the world is to be told (just once) how interesting my course is.'

[My mother always tell me to appreciate and be thankful to those who have helped you along the way.] This is 1 of the rare moments that I actually took heed of her advice...

Presentation

Today is 1 of those days when I felt truly relaxed, glad, and delighted. I can't remember when was the last time I've had this kind of feeling but it sure was a long long time ago.

Remember the 11assignments I was moaning about in my msn messenger??
The biggest baddest most hectic among the 11 assignments is over today! It was a robot design assignment where a group of 5 are required to build a robot. Today was the presentation day where we have to show our creation. Even though our robot is the 1 of the least impressive robots as compared to the other 7 groups, I felt happy about the presentation. Not because that the assignment is over and done with, but rather I felt happy over a few related experience.

1) This is probably the first time that I've delivered an impromptu speech. People who knows me back in my college knows that I've done a lot of presentation and that I'm one of the best presenters around. But today, I was proud that I delivered an impromptu speech, something that I've never thought I'll be able to perform. For all my previous speeches, I rehearshed a million times before the big day. During presentations, I used to focus more on the next word or the next sentence I'm about to mention (I usually memorize my speech). But today, rather than thinking on what word to say next, I focused on more about the idea that I'm about to deliver, and the words automatically comes out!! It's quite an experience. I can't explain it, but its somewhat similiar to those 'Speak your mind' kind of experience where you are able to deliver precisely what you are thinking at the moment. At the end of the presentation, I believed that I did really good for the presentation, and thats why I felt proud for making a successful impromtu speech.
Well, one might ask why the sudden change in presentation style?? I mean, its the biggest and the meanness presentation of the session, shouldn't I be practising the style which I'm more accustomed with?? Shouldn't I memorise everything and make sure I score big time?? Impromptu speeches are great, but there is chance that I might mess up the whole presentation if I'm not used to it....So, why the sudden change??
Simple, I ran out of time. I was still fixing the robot the day before the presentation and the whole night is spent on perfecting the powerpoint presentation slides. So yea, I didn't have time to structure my speech word by word.

2) Gonna blog about the 2nd thing tommorrow. This one is a lil bit heart touching to me...

Man, I'm so happy I'm gonna call a friend tomorrow!!!!

Interesting People

Ever wondered why is it so hard to walk when you still a baby crawling on 4 limbs. Ever wondered how natural walking is now that you are walking.
Some say its 'constant practise'... most will say that its 'constant practise'.... and almost everyone says that its 'constant practise'.

Ever wondered how practise makes perfect???
Some say that if you practise a certain thought long enough, it'll one day sip through your subconscious and stays in your mind for a very very very long time.

I made a post 8 months ago stating that Humans are interesting. Back then, I didn't really believe in it even though I made that post. I only thought of a handful people who are truly interesting. Just the 3 or 8 people who seems to lead an interesting life.
I mean, out of all the 3844 people that you know:
how many of them travelled more than 4 countries??
how many of them are popular models/actors??
how many of them are athletic basketball players??
how many of them owns a super owning blog such as [3POINT8 4444]??

I sure don't have many friends such as these people, but 1 thing for sure.. They are all interesting figures!! I think everyone is generally interesting. I'm sure everyone has their own interesting story. Stories which made them who they are right now, the decisions that they made, the mistakes that they have done, the lessons that they have learned and the decisions that they will make in the future.
To have them telling them their own story is one of the best experience ever. Well, a least that is what I would have believed in!!! Though they may not be as interesting as Peter Parker's double life story or Cap.Jack Sparrow's adventure, but at least its some real life story that I can relate to.

Speaking of heroes, this quote comes into my mind:
"Kid, wanna know the truth?? Most true heroes are not mascular, handsome, or even rich. In the real world, most of them have crooked teeth and big belly."

I'm still looking forward on what you think about the previous post [Making Yourself More Likable at Work]. Any suggestions??

Making Yourself More Likable at Work

Making Yourself More Likable at Work

This is a very good article from Yahoo! Finance.
Looks like I got a long long way to go before I become a people's people.

3rd, By not being a smug... I must be a bit daring to ask for help, and be a lil bit more appreciative than usual...
