A stay in the monastery

I had nothing much to do in the holidays...
I'm just not motivated to do the stuff i'm suppose to do. Stuff like cleaning organizing my computer files, and cleaning up my room...

A few days ago, a friend of mine, Yu Ang invied me to spend a night in a monastery...
Thinking that i had nothing better to do anyway, i decided to follow him....
Yup, a monastery in australia...

It was just yesterday when i spent the night there.
Its not a very big place, but somehow somehow the place projects a sense of serenity and harmony....Probably because its the layout and the design of the building. The garden there i super uber beautiful... (nupe, i did not take any pictures..)
Those living there (mostly monks) seemed content and not having any worries or whatsoever... And best of all, they are all humble people....
(don't cha wish that there are more humble ppl in this world??)

Didn't do much there, besides meditating and chanting...
Oh, i went for this dhamma talk...The subject was about the meditation and the the correct method of breathing.. Even though the speaker taught us all how to do it, i still can't seem to get the correct way of doing it...

And i learned something there...
Whatever we see and feel, is a projection of the mind.
For example, lets just say u wake up in the morning, and a bunch of birds out there are chirping out there... If u are feeling happy, u would probably think that the birds are singing for you.. However, if u are feeling angry, u would probably think that the birds are here to annoy u from your slumber sleep...
Why would anyone want to think negative thoughts when they can choose to feel positive about everything around around them??

Well, thats a brief version of my 1st stay in a monastery experience...
