A walk in the rain

There was a performance done by the UNIBUDS (University Buddhist Society) tonight. And this yearly function is known as bohdinite. This years theme:"the unshakable balance".
They have this super funny and super corny sketch, instructed and done by uni students.

Moral of the story:
When the mind likes, it pulls.
When the mind dislikes, it pushes away.
When the mind has no hatred or greed,
then it feels so calm and freed.
In such a state of equanimity,
Will we have...an unshakable balance.

Gee....I have no idea what it means. Is pulling and pushing suppose to be a bad thing??
Anyway, after the show, i escorted two ladies back to their house...
And so, thats when my '40mins lonely walk back home' began.
I journeyed alone...under the mild rain...with the perfect dark sky filled with bright lit stars...
The temperature was kinda cool with this mild wind...
Even though my pacing at that time was kinda fast, i tried to enjoy it for as long as i can.

Along the way back home, i walked through across uni grounds. Distracted by the spotlight lighting the quiet little small lonely pathway, i tilt my head up and rain drop was all that was in front of my sight. Being highlighted by the strong spotlight, small little droplets of rain, as light as they are, fell gracefully. Far beyond that sight was that perfect dark sky filled with star dust.

It was an unbelievable sight!!
With my hand far stretched towards the vast galaxy, to capture that sight was my dream.
Perhaps it was a good thing that i walked alone. I probably wouldn't have appreciate the sight if i didn't. But it would be better if there is someone walking by my side...

That was my walk... A walk in the rain

When there is a path,

When the pathway is long,
Would you rather travel alone?

Even if there is no destination,
would you still continue your journey?

Confined and isolated,
would you still walk along the lonely path?

(Perhaps everything will change tomorrow. All my hopes are placed upon the event that will occur on the 24th of august 2006, 3pm. Then maybe, just maybe, reavealed will be the 1st clue to the destination i've been wanting to go ages ago...)

Well, can't say that i ain't glad to hear about it. In fact, i'm thrilled by it!!! (Thanks Julie!!!)
U know, everyone has their own ego, and i'm sure that practically anyone would be delighted when someone compliment on their creation, their ego...

So, the question is: Why did i name my blog 3POINT8 4444??
You have probably read this tagline at the top of my blog...


I really believe that the past describes a person. For example, if a person was once a president of a club, most likely he would be perceived as someone who has leadership skill. Thus someone might describe that person as a leader.
And i really believe that the future defines a person. By future, i actually meant the ambition, goals, and believes of a person. For example, if that someone has a burning desire to be the most handsome guy, he would hunt for the latest trend of clothing, the most fashionable hairstye, the best cosmetic product, and learn the most suitable body language to project his 'handsome-ness'. Thus his actions and his thoughts would dictate the person he would be in the future. We become what we believe in.

3POINT was my past...Back then in TARC, I earned the nickname of 3.8
For that period of 2years, my CGPA throughout those 6 semesters were roughly around 3.8. So, people start to address me as 3.8. Can say that i was quite proud of that nickname. Probably because it represents the standard of my intellectual level. But of course, i wouldn't have done it without my friends... I really appreciate those who had lend me their notes, those who have tutored me, those who have ask me questions, even those who have annoyed me during exam period... Without them, i probably wouldn't be in UNSW,australia now....

4444 is my future... The number 4 is a number of completeness, with a beginning and an end.
Many of the cycles that we know of, have four components. [The 4 elements: Earth, wind, fire and water] [The 4 stages of apocalypse :war, plague, famine and death] [The 4 quadrant of cartesian coordinates]
I have no idea why, but since young, i've been obsessed with the no.4. I tried to relate everything wih the no.4. Even until now!
Everytime i eat a cookie, i would make sure that i will take exactly 4 bites to finish it!
The no.4 has been deeply implanted into my mind. I will still continue to relate everything with the no.4. So, I guess thats the future for me.

Ninja

Ninja, a master of silent killing known worldwide as agents of espionage and assassination.

What seems appealing about these ninjas are the myterious aura surrounding their existence. The mere term 'silent-killing' would leave anyone trembling with fear. The usual weapons used by ninja are also interestingly intriguing. Shurikens, kunais, shuken(handclaws), ninja-ken (shorter than a katana, longer than a wakizashi), smokebombs and etc.

Haha, i grew up watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, G.I.Joe and playing Mortal Kombat. So yea, the term 'ninja' left quite an impression within me.

Similiarly, their outfit are of an interesting issue. Covered in pure black, exposing only the eye filled with murderous intent.
Speaking of ninja's outfit, have you ever wonder how they come up with those ninja-style mask? Well, here u go!!! Enjoy!!! (For a better view of the picture, click on the pic!)

You see, you can do some amazing stuff with that small little device, ipod! Thats coz Ipod has a motherboard with all these memory, ROM/RAM, hard disk, processor, input device and etc which is much similiar to a PC. So, the ipod is capable of what any computer can do.

Kurosagi

In 'Kurosagi' aka 'The Black Swindler' (some jap drama), the intro goes like this:
In this world, there are 3 types of swidler:
Those who defrauds other people's money, Shirosagi (white swindler)

[NLP] Cartesian Logic

Anyone who had studied mathematics would be familiar with the cartesian coordinates..
A little bit of info about the cartesian system. As shown in the figure above, there are 4 quadrants in the cartesian system.
1st quadrant: positive X positive Y
2st quadrant: positive X negative Y
3st quadrant: negative X positive Y
4st quadrant: negative X negative Y

In mathematics, the cartesian system is one of the many essential system. This is usually used to plot a graph in order to find out the characteristic of an equation or to to dictate a behaviour of a system.

But did you know that this system can also be applied to language??
In NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), there is a technique known as cartesian questioning..
While asking questions, there are actually 4 ways on how to go about it.
For eg: Why did you do that?
1st quadrant: What would happen if u do that?
2st quadrant: What would happen if u did not do that?
3st quadrant: What would not happen if u do that?
4st quadrant: What would not happen if u did not do that?

Same question structure, 4 different ways of asking with different answer(s) to each question.
Usually people only use the 1st quadrant questioning technique in their life.
But if you are able to use all 4 quadrants of questioning tackfully, you can make them discover something that they would never have come cross their mind. In other words, you can actually help people discover about themselves, or help them helping themselves making important decisions.
Or if you use the 4 quadrant questioning on yourself, you will soon find out that you are entering into a state of breakthrough.
Most of the time, you will be able to come out with additional reasons previously unthought of....

This is a pretty useful technique to psycho people.
When i mention psycho, i actually meant 'to confuse them' or 'make their brain go haywire'.

Master this technique, and it will someday bring success to you.

Blue Mountain Trip

Blue Mountain....a famous tourist place in sydney. Cool weather coupled with breath-taking sceneries and a little bit of adventure, the perfect combination for those who seeks serenity and beauty within nature...

A place where i've been to last saturday (5/8/2006). Ahhh...dun you guys just love those sweet no-work weekends??

I was just tagging along with a bunch of 30 'CG(Caregroup) church' people. I have to give credit to Lissya and Micheal for their persistant effort in 'convincing' me to go along with them...

Yup, initially i didn't want to follow them. Not being a christian, I fear that i'll be one of those odd one out among that bunch of people. Furthermore, I'm kind of a introvert who stays at home lazying around, busying trying to do nothing at all... But when they mentioned 'bush-walking' in Blue Mountain, I got turned on!!! Perhaps that's the closest thing in australia to jungle trekking in a forrest. You have no idea how long i've been icthing for some outdoor outings...

The one standing in the middle is Lissya, and the one on the left is vincent. Both of them are members of the famous 'Day Avenue Gang'.. In the photo, we were standing at this place known as 'echo point'. Its like a cliff and we were on top of it.
[Yup, thats the Lissya who managed to convince me to blue mountain.]

These guys in the photo are just half the group i went with... Remember 'echo point'?? Well, this is the the pathway leading down away from 'echo point'...all the way down to the cliff's 'ground point'. So, i'm with a bunch of 20 people who wants to go down... Towards 3/4 of the journey down, some of them just weren't motivated enough to finish the journey.. And that's where they took a 180 degrees turn and went back up to echo point.

Actually, the only people who managed to continue all the way down to 'ground point' were (from left to right) Me, Kevin, Micheal and Vincent...
